Many are not aware of the impact daily life activities, stresses and not being at a healthy BMI can have on their backs. You may not realize it, but even minor things such as walking and sitting affects your back. If you have poor posture, lift things improperly, experienced injuries then your spine can become curved. Something as simple as sitting with your back arched improperly over an extended period of time can cause spinal curves. When a curve develops it can cause a wide range of health conditions such as back pain, neck pain, fatigue, headaches, and much more. The spine is designed to be straight. If and when it’s curved the bones and tendons inside it can press against nerves and blood vessels.
Tip: Before starting any exercise program make sure to check with your physician, especially if you’re already experiencing pain.
If you’re concerned about your posture then look into the possibility of practicing yoga, or sitting on a yoga ball while working instead of an office chair. Also, working on your core muscles (abs) can help maintain a healthy back. Study author Henry Wajswelner of LifeCare Prahran Sports Medicine Physiotherapy in Australia was quoted in the June 2012 edition of Women’s Health Magazine stating that “Back pain can be with you for life, and consistent exercise is the most effective way to control it.”
Another option is to visit a chiropractor. Experienced chiropractors take your entire body into consideration when faced with an ailment. These professionals will see you on a regular basis and gradually manipulate your spine so that over time it returns to the position it is supposed to be in. It may take months, but eventually you’ll find the relief that you need. High quality health and wellness centers that offer chiropractic care also will offer services such as acupuncture, massage, nutrition counseling, and more. There’s a chance that your current headaches, back pain, and fatigue could be triggered by spinal curves. Take the time to visit a chiropractor and you may learn just what your problem is and how to go about correcting it.
